This 4 day course is designed to give the HazMat Technician a working knowledge of basic field identification of industrial chemicals. The class will impart to students the skills necessary to make safe, informed decisions and comply with federal law regarding proper identification of unknown materials. Through a series of short lectures followed by extended hands-on laboratory time and review, students learn the HazCat® 2.0 decision-matrix algorithm, analytical procedures, concepts and the proper interpretation of test results, along with potential pitfalls that may be encountered.
